What is the Boston EMDR Trauma Recovery Network (TRN)?

We are an affiliate of the Humanitarian Assistance Program founded to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) interventions to individuals after a community based critical incident. We are volunteer, EMDR trained therapists seeking to create early access to brief interventions to provide relief after such trauma. We use specific individual and group protocols to help relieve negative impacts of traumatic experiences and help people access internal resources to navigate stressors. We serve individuals in Eastern Massachusetts.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma treatment created by Francine Shapiro in 1987 to help address the negative impact of trauma. Today, EMDR is a validated by the American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organization as an effective trauma treatment. The Trauma Recovery/Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) coordinates local organizations of EMDR therapists who volunteer to provide short term, early intervention to individuals coping with recent trauma.
